Signage is a very important, but often overlooked job. A team of eager volunteers puts up signs before the conference, and ensures that they stay up during FOSDEM. Signs can be everything from "J this way" to a map of the current building. Doing this task will give you a detailed and in-depth knowledge of all the rooms FOSDEM uses on campus.
We put flip boards in front of every building, so you must be comfortable doing this. You will also tape laminated paper signs across the campus to ensure that our visitors don't lose their way.
You should bring a decent jacket (Belgium is rainy) and, when cold, some gloves without tips for easier tape cutting.
We need a group of volunteers during build-up for most of the work, and then a smaller group during the conference itself. During the conference, meet at the K Infodesk at 7:30. |
