From dawn till dusk, the cloak room is the place where visitors can leave their cumbersome belongings, and enjoy a nice day at the conference. As you can imagine, peak hours are mornings and evenings and Sunday afternoon. At other times, it is quite relaxed.
We store both coats and luggage (even cumbersome ones), based on a first-come, first-served basis. It is not unlikely that on Sunday, the cloakroom will fill up, as most people leave their luggage there before they catch their flights/trains/...
We pin a ticket to whatever item is brought in, and give the other half to the customer. Normally, bags and coats have differently colored tickets, so we can easily find the item. It is recommended to have some kind of map/plan of the cloak room, so you can keep things organized. Long queues are known to form during rush hours.
On Saturday evening, after the day ends, we offer stands the possibility of storing their valuable items in the cloak room.
It should be stressed that you should never leave the cloak room unattended, or allow any non-cloak-room-volunteer or non-staff in the room itself. |
