All things must come to an end, and so does FOSDEM. As good people, we leave the university in the same state we found it. All FOSDEM stuff must be removed and taken down; everything we brought in collected and stored for next year.
We remove (and throw away) all brown paper and network cables. We collect all our own equipment (video, signs, ...) and fold and stack the chairs and tables for the rental company. We also clean up the rubbish, wipe the floors, collect the rubbish bags and much more.
As you can see, we need many hands to get all this done in around three hours. We remove everything that is ours (though we once forgot the big banner), but also try not to damage the buildings. The better the clean-up goes, the more chance that we are allowed in again next year. |
